Is your skincare "Earth-Approved"? Earth day swaps

Hi Reader,

Happy Earth Day!

Usually, today is filled with reminders to recycle our plastic or plant a tree—both of which are amazing. But for those of us living a low-tox lifestyle, Earth Day hits a little closer to home. It’s a reminder that the ingredients we put in and on our bodies eventually end up back in our soil and water.

One of the biggest "Earth-offenders" hiding in our bathrooms? Synthetic fragrance.

Those "fragrance oils" found in most commercial scrubs and lotions are often petroleum-based and contain phthalates that don't just mess with our hormones—they’re also incredibly hard for our ecosystem to break down.

Today, I’m celebrating by sticking to my three "Earth-First" skincare rules:

  1. Scenting with Plants: Choosing pure essential oils over synthetic "parfum". Even fragrance oils are synthetic.
  2. Simple Ingredients: If I can’t pronounce it, I don’t want it washing down my drain.
  3. Low-Waste DIYs: Using glass jars and bulk ingredients to skip the single-use plastic.

Living a "clean" life isn't just about us; it’s about being a good guest on this planet. 🌿

I’d love to hear from you: What is one "green" swap you’ve made in your beauty or cleaning routine that you’re proud of today? Hit reply and let me know!
